Monthly active users explained

MAU is both a product health metric and a common pricing unit for product adoption tools. Vendors define it slightly differently, for example counting any identified user who loads the product, or only users who trigger an event.

When a tool prices on MAUs, forecast your user numbers 12 to 24 months ahead and ask how overages are handled, because moving up a tier can change cost significantly.
