Digital adoption platform explained

A digital adoption platform overlays the applications people already use, such as a CRM, ERP or HR system, and shows guidance inside them at the moment of need. Instead of relying on classroom training, users see step-by-step help on the screen where the work happens.

Most DAPs combine walkthroughs, contextual tooltips, a searchable self-help widget, onboarding task lists and analytics that show how the application is actually used. They are typically bought by IT, HR, learning and operations teams to support software rollouts and process changes.

Example: A company rolling out a new CRM uses a DAP to guide 800 salespeople through creating opportunities, with tips on required fields and a help widget for common questions.
