An estimate for planning. It assumes sessions in the blended model cost proportionally less and need no refresher round, because guidance stays available in the application.
How the calculation works
- Classroom = (employees × hours × hourly cost) + (sessions × trainer cost) + (employees × travel), plus the refresher percentage of all of that.
- Blended = (employees × remaining hours × hourly cost) + a proportional share of trainer cost + guidance software + content building time.
- Sessions = employees ÷ employees per session, rounded up.
Frequently asked questions
Does in-app guidance replace classroom training?
Not entirely. Short sessions are still useful for concepts, culture and change. In-app guidance replaces much of the step-by-step "click here" training, which is what people forget fastest.
What does "hours of productive time" include?
The time employees spend in training sessions instead of doing their jobs, valued at their loaded hourly cost. It is often the largest cost of classroom training.
Where do the guidance costs come from?
Enter your own figures: the software licence share for this rollout and the time your team spends building and maintaining guidance.
